The 2026 San Felipe 250 delivered one of the strongest proof points yet for the Brenthel Industries program — and it came from a first-time driver.

Patrick Wieland entered San Felipe with zero prior off-road race experience, having progressed through Brenthel’s Trophy Truck School leading into the event. Competing in the highly competitive Trophy Truck Spec class, he delivered a clean and calculated performance to finish 11th in class in his debut race.

“If there’s ever been a better success story for Brenthel TT School than showing up to San Felipe and finishing 11th in my first race, I don’t know what else is,” Wieland said following the race. “The coaching staff, mechanics, and entire team delivered incredible support across the board.”

Following that performance, Wieland has officially committed to running the remainder of the 2026 SCORE season with Brenthel Industries.

As part of that commitment, he will be joined by former NFL quarterback Drew Stanton as co-driver for the rest of the season and into 2027.

Eyes on Rookie of the Year

With momentum on his side, Wieland is setting ambitious goals for the season ahead — including Rookie of the Year contention, consistent top-10 finishes, and a push toward the podium in Trophy Truck Spec.

“I want to make a serious run this year,” Wieland said. “The goal is to finish every race, stay consistent in the top 10, and put ourselves in a position to compete up front.”

Preparation is already underway, with plans to log extensive miles in Johnson Valley, focus on pre-running, and dial in a Gen 4 Spec truck ahead of the Baja 500.

“I’m fully committed to putting in the time. Seat time, pre-running, everything it takes. If we run smart and smooth, we’ll be in the right position.”

Built for the Next Step

Wieland’s progression from first-time driver to full-season competitor reflects the core of Brenthel Industries’ approach — combining driver development, race-proven equipment, and full-service race support into one unified system.

San Felipe may have been the first race, but it marked the beginning of something much bigger.

With a full season ahead and a clear vision in place, Patrick Wieland is a driver to watch in the 2026 SCORE Championship.
