Four time Supercross champion Ryan Villopoto had such a great time racing the Baja 1000 with Brenthel Industries that he will be back behind the wheel at The Mint 400. Jonathan and Jordan Brenthel just got a special race vehicle back from a trade-in. It is the same 7200 truck, now a buggy that they both drove to 7200 class championships.
“The car is a screamer,” said Jonathan, “It has the 3.6 liter VVT motor from the Camaro; it sounds unique. We had the car, so I called Ryan and asked if he wanted to race the Mint. He said sure, when is it. When I told him it was this weekend, he laughed and said “you’re crazy but I’ll be there!”
Ryan will be racing in the sportsman class in the morning. The car will have a brand new fluorescent yellow Brenthel Industries wrap and have all the best goodies from Falken Tire, Rigid Industries, Method Race Wheels, Torco, Jamar, CBM, and King Shocks. Ryan is anxious to add the Mint 400 to his resume and gain some more seat time in the desert.
Ryan is out for a little fun but Jonathan has some serious work to do in the Brenthel Industries 6100 truck. He will be starting back in the 31st position. He will have a ton of dust to contend with as well as a screw in his hand from a recent injury. “It’s my lucky screw,” said Jonathan, “I’m not going to let it slow me down. Our strategy is simple; we are going for a win. We’ll be going as fast as we dare in the dust. The course is going to get rough after a couple laps, if we can have a clean run, we’ll have a shot.”
Brenthel Industries would like to put you in a car too. They have a long list of competition vehicles and prerunners to choose from. Created in CAD and then proven on the race course, Brenthel Industries leads the way by design. Any job you have, big or small can benefit from Brenthel’s meticulous engineering and precise craftsmanship.
